Kentucky School Safety and Resiliency Act (KSSRA) was developed because Kentucky is experiencing a dramatic increase in school violence and safety concerns. The Department of Justice SAFE (Supportive Action for Everyone) grant is designed to assist districts with resources and supports to better meet these challenges. 

Project Goals

  • Meeting improved school safety objectives to ensure the success of the grant 
  • Instituting protocols for the program 
  • Creating safety response teams (Champions) and identifying a district point of contact 
  • Terrace Metrics training and utilization 
  • Administering a comprehensive behavioral health assessment (Resiliency Survey) through Terrace Metrics 
  • Training for Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF) 
  • Training for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) 
  • Training for School Mental Health (SMH) 
  • Collaboration with participants for training and be available in the event of an emergency 
  • Instituting school plans to develop SEL plans
